5 Star BJJ Competition Team Medals at 2018 SJJIF Worlds!

This past weekend, The 5 Star Martial Arts / Renzo Gracie Los Angeles BJJ Competition Team competed at The SJJIF World Championship in Long Beach, California. We had competitors of all belt levels and adult age divisions competing in both the Gi competition on Saturday and the NoGi competition on Sunday. The team was coached by Black Belts Mike Krider and Jaime Mendez and assisted by Brown Belts Royce Kim, Dexter Chin, Jeremy Romero, and Oliver Putting. In the Gi competition, the team collected 8 total medals; 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze. In the NoGi competition, the team grabbed 10 total medals; 2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronse. All of our team members fought hard and exhibited great sportsmanship on the mats.

IBJJF NoGi World Championship – Anaheim, CA – December 14, 15, & 16th

NABJJF All Americas Tournament – Norwalk, CA – January 26 & 27th

Our BJJ competition team consists of students of all age levels, weights, and belt rankings who are passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and challenging themselves on the mats. Our competition students work very hard to balance careers, families, and other responsibilities in order to prepare for the competitions.
