5 Star Martial Arts was founded by Renzo Gracie Black Belt Shawn Williams in 2010 and offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Kids Martial Arts classes to the greater Los Angeles community.

5 Star Martial Arts was founded by Shawn Williams in 2010 and offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Kids Martial Arts classes to the greater Los Angeles community. The Los Angeles Academy is located on Wilshire Blvd., in the heart of the city and serves the Hancock Park, Miracle Mile, Koreatown, Hollywood, and Downtown Los Angeles area.structured bjj cirriculum

 

We Train With the Best in the World

Over the years, the academy has grown into one of the largest martial arts academies in Southern California and has hosted many of the top martial artists from around the world. Many of the best martial artists in the world have trained on the mats at 5 Star Martial Arts including UFC Champions Georges St. Pierre, Frankie Edgar, Luke Rockhold, and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Additionally, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legends and top competitors including Renzo Gracie, Rodrigo Gracie, Rolles Gracie, Ricardo Almeida, Romulo Barral, Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan, Nicky Ryan, and John Danaher have also taught and trained at 5 Star Martial Arts. The academy has also hosted seminars featuring Muay Thai World Champions, Malaipet Sasiprapa, and Saenchai.

5 Star Martial Arts is part of Team Renzo Gracie, the largest and most successful Martial Arts team in the world. Team Renzo Gracie has produced high-level Mixed Martial Artists including UFC Champions; Georges St. Pierre, Matt Serra, Frankie Edgar, and Chris Weidman. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Team Renzo Gracie has been one of the most innovative teams in developing many popular BJJ techniques and has produced World Champions in ADCC and IBJJF competitions and numerous champions in the growing submission only format tournaments.
