First Women’s Only BJJ Class Will be Held Sunday, July 21st at 9 AM

5 Star Martial Arts / Renzo Gracie Los Angeles will be holding its first Women’s Only BJJ Class taught in the gi by Coach Kristin Hassan on Sunday, July 21st from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The classes are open to female adult students of all skill levels from 5 Star Martial Arts, Common Ground BJJ and Espiritu BJJ. The Women’s classes offers a great opportunity for female students who train in different classes during the week to meetup and train, drill, learn, collaborate and help each grow as martial artists.
After the inaugural class on July 21st, the classes will be held the second Sunday of each month at 9 AM. We will inform students whether the classes will be gi or nogi through social media and post-class announcements. The next classes on the schedule are
- Sunday, August 11th at 9 AM
- Sunday, September 8th at 9 AM
- Sunday, October 13th at 9 AM
Coach Kristin is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Shawn Williams and is one of our academy’s most experienced and decorated grapplers. Through her years of training, Coach Kristin has developed a very balanced and diverse submission focused style in both the gi and nogi styles. She has won medals at numerous local and national tournaments including winning Gold at IBJJF American Nationals, IBJJF Las Vegas Spring Open, NAGA, and Grappling X. Prior to training BJJ, Kristin earned a Brown Belt in Kempo Karate, served as Kids Karate instructor, and trained in boxing.
