This past weekend, our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition team competed at The Jiu Jitsu World League’s Los Angeles event at Azuza Pacific’s Felix Event Center. This event marked the first time 5 Star Martial Arts / Renzo Gracie Los Angeles combined forces with sister academies, Common Ground Jiu Jitsu and Espiritu Jiu Jitsu, to compete under the same banner. The event was a great showcase for Renzo Gracie Los Angeles and was led by 5 Star coaches Dominick Haider and Jeremy Romero, Common Ground’s Alex Aung, and Espiritu Jiu Jitsu’s Jeremy Espiritu.

The combined efforts results in 18 competitors stepping onto the mats and The Renzo Gracie Team securing a Top 10 team finish at the event. Almost all of Espiritu Jiu Jitsu’s team members were making their competition debuts and have only been training for six months. All of our competitors fought with tons of heart, exhibited the warrior spirit and exhibited great sportsmanship on the mats. A number of competitors made the podium at the event including
